This proposal includes the following travel components;

2. Personal Carrier / Please note this is Optional and can be removed if you wish. Includes Personal Carrier & Pack Hire (120Lt) and you must leave enough room in the top of your pack for your carriers clothes, food and water. This means that your equipment should fill the pack to a maximum of 2/3 capacity.
3. Trek Kit / This is also Optional. Includes Sleeping Bag Hire, Sleeping Mat Hire, Mosquito Net & Sleeping Bag Liner. Sleeping bags and mats are cleaned and sanitised after every trek. Mosquito nets are donated to local villages at the end of every trek, helping to prevent the spread of Malaria. Sleeping bag liners are yours to keep.
4. Comprehensive Travel Insurance / Whilst this is Optional, travel insurance is a mandatory requirement for those wishing to trek the Kokoda Trail with Getaway Trekking. We have been using Cover-More Travel Insurance for quite some time and believe they are one of the best in the marketplace (if not, the best) and very easy to deal with in the unlikely event a medical evacuation from the Trail is required. Given how frequently you travel, I suspect that there may be a chance you already have travel insurance but I have included it nonetheless as an optional item.

Whilst I mentioned I would be able to check on the airfares, unfortunately we are a few weeks away from knowing the exact costs. Air Niugini will release their airfares in the coming weeks for this time, however they won’t vary too much from the $800-$850 per person mark including airfare taxes. Note that both international flights quoted are direct/non-stop services and all operated by Air Niugini except for your return flight to Brisbane from Port Moresby, which is operated by Qantas Airways.

To reserve your place on this trek, we will require a $750 deposit per person within 7 days of confirmation, with the balance of your trek due at least 60 days prior to departure.

This trek promises to be a fantastic experience Kathleen, not simply owing to the fact that it’s THE Kokoda Trail, however it would be over Anzac Day which is, quite clearly, more significant than any other date on the Kokoda Trail calendar.
